On 6 August 2026, we held our Annual General Meeting at the Garden Route District Municipality’s Outeniqua Boardroom, with 15 members attending in person and more than 16 joining us online.
We were also honoured to have Dr Cecilia Bester, an Honorary Member of SAHTA, join us. Dr Bester will be retiring later this year, and we are incredibly grateful for her contribution to the Honeybush industry and to SAHTA over the years.

After a well-deserved tea break, the SAHTA directors shared updates on the work happening behind the scenes, giving members a deeper insight into the association’s progress and the work being done to support and grow the Honeybush industry.
A huge thank you to The Deli Factory in Plettenberg Bay for the incredible lunch, and to Boxes and Bites for the delicious brownies and blondies. They were a huge success!

We wrapped up the day with the election of new directors, facilitated by Johan Kritzinger. We are delighted that Dr Pippa Karsens and Jo-Anne Fourie have committed to another two years on the board, and that Dr Lize van der Merwe will continue supporting SAHTA as our secretariat.
A warm welcome to our new directors Shaun Cairns, Clyde Lambert and Theo Adams. We look forward to working with you as we continue building, strengthening and growing the Honeybush industry together.
